Decide on final Hetzner plan and data center location for consolidating production services.

Services to host

  • home.cookslate.app (production)
  • demo.cookslate.app (demo instance)
  • Architect Console
  • Authentik (SSO)
  • Caddy (reverse proxy)
  • MySQL + PostgreSQL (for Authentik)

Considerations

  • CX32 (4 vCPU, 8GB RAM, 80GB NVMe) at ~$14.50/mo (EU) vs 2-3x for US DCs
  • EU latency (~100ms to US) is acceptable for these workloads
  • May need additional storage volume (~$2/mo for 40GB)
  • RAM budget: ~4.2GB baseline, 8GB provides headroom for Authentik spikes

  • Finland (Helsinki) vs Germany (Falkenstein/Nuremberg) vs US (Ashburn/Hillsboro)
  • Whether 80GB storage is sufficient or need a volume
